VOLUME II NUMBER 1 OCTOBER - DECEMBER 2001 |
FROM THE EDITOR
HAPPY
DEEPAVALI
May the ‘Festival of Lights’ bring in Prosperity and Happiness
to all our readers and their families.
We are happy to report that this Journal has completed one year of
publication and 4 issues have come out in the last twelve months. We are shortly
placing all these 4 issues on our Website www.aapssindia.org
for free downloading. We were enthused and sustained in our task of bringing out
this journal by the encouragement, advice and kind words received from our
readers. While expressing our gratitude to our readers, we rededicate ourselves
to spread the message of vigilance. We appeal to our readers to enrich this
journal with their articles, case studies and other features. We believe that we
can build-up professional expertise only by sharing our experiences with others.
There
was a suggestion that each issue should be devoted to one area of vigilance.
Accepting this, we have given prominence to Bank Sector in this issue. We are
grateful to Shri P.C.Srivastava, CVO, Union Bank of India for contributing an
interesting case study. We propose to devote our next issue to ‘Probity in
Financial Institutions’. We appeal to our readers to send in their
articles, case studies etc. on this subject by December 15, 2001.
As
our readers are aware, the Publisher Association, being a Public Service
Society, is not having adequate financial resources to publish this journal. We
are incurring heavy losses. We appeal to our readers to help in overcoming our
financial difficulties by taking out multiple subscriptions and giving
advertisements. We feel that if every one of our existing subscribers can enroll
an additional subscriber, our financial problems will be mitigated to a great
extent.
Vigilance
Professionals will be observing ‘Vigilance Awareness Week’ from October 31,
2001 in compliance with the directives of the CVC. We hope that the material
published in our journal will be of use to them in preparing ‘handouts’ and
‘briefs’.
